Israeli force deploys near village in western Daraa countryside

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – An Israeli military force advanced on Sunday and deployed near Abidin village in the western countryside of Daraa governorate in southern Syria, according to local sources and eyewitnesses.

Sources and eyewitnesses told North Press that the Israeli force consisted of about 12 military vehicles, including armored vehicles, which departed from al-Jazira military barracks located on the outskirts of Maariya village in the Yarmouk Basin area west of Daraa governorate.

According to the sources, the Israeli vehicles moved along the road leading to Abidin village, with some reaching the outskirts of the village. Other vehicles passed through the western neighborhood of Maariya without entering the village itself and continued toward the Abidin road.

The sources added that several Israeli military vehicles were stationed near Khalid ibn al-Walid Mosque inside Abidin village.

As of the time of publication, there was no information indicating that Israeli forces had detained anyone during Sunday’s incursion, the sources said.

Israeli forces have carried out repeated incursions and military movements in areas of western Daraa recently, particularly in locations near the ceasefire line in southern Syria.
