Two Syrian security members killed in suicide attack on security facility in Raqqa

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Two Syrian security members were killed and several others wounded on Monday in a suicide attack targeting a security facility in Raqqa governorate, according to Syria’s Interior Ministry.

The ministry’s spokesperson, Noureddine al-Baba, said in a statement that “the suicide attack that targeted one of the security headquarters in Raqqa resulted, according to preliminary information, in the death of two personnel and the injury of others.”

Syrian state-run Al-Ikhbariya TV reported that the attack targeted a security facility in Raqqa city. According to the channel, security forces managed to neutralize one of the attackers, while the second detonated an explosive device after being surrounded.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the identity of the attackers or the condition of those wounded.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
