More than 20 Israeli military vehicles enter village in Syria’s Quneitra

QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – More than 20 Israeli military vehicles, including armored personnel carriers, on Sunday entered the village of Umm Batna in the central countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, arriving from the Golan Heights and carrying out military activities in the area for approximately three hours.

A local source told North Press that the Israeli force established a temporary military position inside the village during the incursion, conducting search and reconnaissance operations in the surrounding area while deploying military vehicles and personnel throughout the vicinity.

According to the source, Israeli troops questioned a local resident about the presence of any armed groups or military activity in the area before continuing their advance toward an abandoned military site formerly used by the forces of the al-Assad regime.

The source added that the force carried out a thorough search of the abandoned military facility and fired several illumination flares over the area during the operation, sparking concern and apprehension among local residents.

The latest incursion comes amid a series of recurring Israeli military movements in southern Syria, particularly in Quneitra Governorate, where residents have reported increased patrols, searches, and military activity in recent months.
