Israeli forces detain 5 in separate incursions in Syria’s Quneitra
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces detained five people, including two minors under the age of 17, during two separate incursions carried out on Sunday in Quneitra Governorate in southern Syria.
According to local sources, a force of more than 20 Israeli soldiers entered the village of Jubata al-Khashab in Quneitra northern countryside, where they conducted house-to-house searches before arresting four young men from the village, including two minors.
The sources said that the force spent time searching targeted houses and checking residents’ identities before withdrawing from the village accompanied by the detainees.
In a separate incident, another Israeli unit reportedly infiltrated the village of Saida al-Golan in Quneitra southern countryside. The force raided the house of a young man, searched it, and then detained him before taking him toward the occupied Golan Heights.
Israeli forces have carried out repeated incursions into Quneitra countryside in recent years, involving raids and arrests targeting local residents, raising concerns over increasing security violations in the border region.
These operations come amid ongoing tensions along the Syrian-Israeli disengagement line, where residents frequently report movement restrictions, searches, and detentions during military incursions.
