Israeli forces detain resident during incursion in Syria’s Quneitra
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces on Saturday carried out incursions into several areas of southern Quneitra countryside, southern Syria, conducting house raids and searches and detaining a local resident, according to local sources.
Sources told North Press that an Israeli force consisting of four military vehicles entered the Abu Madhraah farm area west of the village of Saida al-Golan. During the operation, troops raided a residence and detained a civilian, taking him to an Israeli military position in the Golan Heights.
The reasons for the detention remain unclear.
In a separate operation, another Israeli force entered the village of al-Asha in southern Quneitra countryside, where troops searched several civilian homes before withdrawing from the area. No arrests or confrontations with residents were reported during the operation.
Southern Syria has witnessed a growing number of Israeli military incursions in recent months, accompanied by raids, arrests, and the bulldozing of agricultural land, raising concerns among local residents about the continued escalation.
