Israeli military patrol advances into Quneitra countryside

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces carried out a new incursion on Friday into areas in the southern countryside of Quneitra, amid ongoing tensions and repeated violations of the 1974 disengagement agreement in southern Syria.

The Syrian state-run SANA news agency reported that an Israeli force consisting of six military vehicles advanced toward the village of Sida al-Hanout, where it remained for some time on the western side of the village.

According to the agency, the force blocked the path of several shepherds, in what local residents described as part of continued pressure on communities living in the area.

The patrol later moved toward the village of al-Razaniyah and set up a temporary checkpoint at the junction leading to Sida al-Golan before withdrawing from the area.

The latest movement comes days after a similar Israeli incursion near Sida al-Hanout village on Tuesday.

Damascus has repeatedly accused Israel of violating the 1974 disengagement agreement through repeated military incursions into southern Syria, as well as raids, arrests, and land bulldozing operations.

The Syrian government continues to reject the Israeli presence on its territory, describing Israeli measures in southern Syria as “null and illegitimate” under international law.

Syrian authorities have also called on the international community to intervene to halt the violations and compel Israel to fully withdraw from Syrian territory.
