Israeli forces withdraw from Syria’s Daraa after brief incursion
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces on Tuesday withdrew from the western countryside of Daraa in southern Syria after a ground incursion that lasted about an hour and was accompanied by intensive drone flights.
A local source said the force consisted of more than 20 military vehicles and around 60 personnel. The convoy reportedly entered the village of Ma’ariya in the Yarmouk Basin area, moving through its streets before pulling back without any direct confrontation with residents.
The source added that the operation was launched from the Al-Jazeera barracks, a site Israeli forces have used as a base since late 2024. Drones were seen flying at low altitude over the area throughout the incursion.
Although no raids or arrests were reported, residents said the presence of the vehicles and the drone activity caused fear and anxiety among civilians.
Israeli forces later withdrew to their positions without incident, the source noted.
