Syria’s Interior Ministry announces dismantling of ‘terrorist’ cell in Homs

HOMS, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Ministry of Interior on Sunday announced that Internal Security Forces, in coordination with the General Intelligence Service, thwarted the activity of a “terrorist” cell in Homs Governorate that was allegedly planning attacks targeting security and stability in the area.

The ministry said the operation followed what it described as intensive and precise intelligence monitoring.

Specialized units carried out a raid on the location where the cell members had barricaded themselves, resulting in the killing of two members and full control of the site.

During the operation, security forces confiscated large quantities of weapons and equipment, including missiles, anti-armor launchers, sniper rifles, automatic weapons, RPG launchers with ammunition, as well as grenades and other military gear reportedly prepared for use in what the ministry described as criminal activities.

The ministry added that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle sleeper cells and curb sources of threat, stressing continued readiness to confront any attempts that may undermine public security and stability.
