Netanyahu says Israel continuing strikes on Iran
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday that Israel is continuing strikes on Iran and will respond “with greater force” to Hezbollah following recent attacks.
The remarks were made during a visit to the Palmachim Air Base, where Netanyahu was accompanied by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir.
“We continue to strike Iran with force. Our pilots are flying over the skies of Iran and Tehran, as well as over the skies of Lebanon,” Netanyahu said. “Hezbollah made a grave mistake when it attacked us. We have already responded with force, and we will respond with even greater force.”
He added, “The Lebanese government must understand and the Lebanese people must understand that Hezbollah is dragging them into a war that is not theirs, merely because of the killing of that mass murderer who has nothing to do with them. They must defend themselves, and they must do so quickly. We will continue to do what is necessary to protect ourselves.”
Netanyahu also praised Israeli air force personnel during his visit. “I am here at the air force base with the defense minister, the chief of staff, the commanders and the fighters. They are doing a tremendous job here — an astonishing job — astonishing not only the enemy, but the defense minister and myself as well,” he said.
“I believe the entire Israeli public must appreciate the important work you are doing — protecting the citizens of Israel and striking the murderers and those who stand behind them in Iran,” he added.
The statements come amid heightened tensions between Israel, Iran, and Hezbollah, as cross-border hostilities and regional confrontations have intensified in recent months.
