UN aid convoy reaches Kobani carrying fuel and relief supplies

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A humanitarian aid convoy consisting of 27 trucks arrived Monday in the northern Syrian city of Kobani, delivering food, medical, and logistical assistance alongside fuel supplies provided by the United Nations, local officials said.

The convoy entered Kobani carrying essential humanitarian materials, including food baskets, medical items, blankets, mattresses, and fuel tankers intended to support critical services and displaced families in the region.

Abdulqader Ibrahim, coordinator of Buhar Organization, told North Press that the shipment includes 27,500 liters of diesel fuel designated for hospitals and public service institutions in the city.

“The fuel will be distributed to hospitals in Kobani and the Directorate to ensure the continuation of essential services,” Ibrahim said.

He added that the convoy also contains food baskets and humanitarian supplies such as sponges, blankets, and medical materials aimed at addressing ongoing humanitarian needs.

According to Ibrahim, this is the third humanitarian convoy dispatched by the United Nations from the city of Aleppo to Kobani, reflecting continued international support for communities in northeast Syria.

The food baskets and logistical aid will be distributed to displaced persons through humanitarian organizations operating in Kobani, including Solidarités, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), Médecins du Monde (MDM), Bahar Organization, and the Kurdish Red Crescent.

Distribution operations will be supervised by the Office of Organizations in coordination with the Social Affairs and Labor Board in Kobani, local authorities confirmed.
