Damascus-Kurdish talks in Hasakah focus on security deployment after military withdrawal

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – A security source of the Asayish forces told North Press on Tuesday that a meeting is being held between the leadership of the Kurdish Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and Syria’s Internal Security Forces to implement the agreement reached between the Syrian transitional government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The source said the meeting focuses on agreeing on the mechanisms for deploying Internal Security Forces ahead of the withdrawal of military forces from the city of Hasakah in northeastern Syria.

According to the source, the discussions also cover the deployment arrangements in towns south of Hasakah following the withdrawal of Syrian forces.
