QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces detained three Syrian civilians on Monday near the outskirts of the town of Jbata al-Khashab in the northern countryside of Quneitra governorate, southwestern Syria, according to official Syrian sources.
The state-run Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that Israeli soldiers apprehended the three individuals during an operation conducted near the disengagement line in the area. The agency said the detainees were taken into territory occupied by Israel, without any official explanation regarding the reasons for their arrest or information about their current whereabouts.
Earlier on Monday, Israeli military units reportedly advanced into parts of the southern Quneitra countryside, where they set up a temporary checkpoint and inspected vehicles passing through the area, residents told local media. The incursion marked the latest in a series of intermittent movements by Israeli forces along the border region.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military regarding the reported arrests or the purpose of the deployment. Local sources said the checkpoint was later dismantled following the withdrawal of the forces from the area.
