Israeli army patrols establish temporary checkpoints in Syria’s Quneitra

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Two separate patrols of the Israeli army carried out on Wednesday incursions into the countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, setting up temporary checkpoints, amid a rise in cross-border incursions into Syrian territory since the fall of the al-Assad regime.

Local media reported that an Israeli military patrol advanced into the village of Sayda al-Hanout in southern Quneitra countryside, where it established a temporary checkpoint and blocked the movement of residents.

A separate Israeli patrol also reportedly entered the village of al-Samadaniya al-Sharqiye, setting up another temporary checkpoint and preventing civilians from passing through.

No information has been reported regarding arrests of local residents during the incursions, and the Syrian transitional government has not yet issued any comment on the Israeli military activity.
