Syrian security member dies of wounds after armed attack in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A member of the Syrian transitional government forces died on Sunday evening from wounds sustained in an armed attack that targeted a military post in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, eastern Syria, two days earlier.
A security source in Deir ez-Zor told North Press that Ahmad al-Khalaf, 31, succumbed to his injuries at Deir ez-Zor National Hospital after being wounded in an armed assault that targeted a military post in the town of al-Bahra, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The source added that al-Khalaf was originally from the town of Gharanij, east of Deir ez-Zor, and had recently joined the Syrian transitional government forces.
According to the source, the death toll from the attack has risen to four, while several others remain in critical condition and are receiving treatment at Deir ez-Zor Hospital.
