Barzani Charity Foundation delivers aid to displaced Kurds in NE Syria
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) announced on Tuesday that 165 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid have entered the Kurdish regions in northeastern Syria to support displaced families.
Speaking at a press conference, Musa Ahmad, head of the BCF, said the assistance targeted 57,955 displaced people, including 9,180 women.
He added that aid was distributed across 82 schools currently sheltering displaced families.
Ahmad noted that the foundation also distributed 145,177 liters of diesel fuel to 108 schools and mosques hosting displaced people across Hasakah Governorate.
According to the foundation, 9,330 hot meals were delivered to 15 schools and mosques.
Five days earlier, a Barzani Charity Foundation aid convoy arrived in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, carrying relief supplies for people displaced from the Kurdish Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods of Aleppo, as well as from Raqqa and Tabqa.
On Jan. 24, the Autonomous Administration told North Press that nearly 5,000 families had been displaced to cities in Hasakah in recent days.
