SDF excludes fighter, refers him to military court over Kobani photos
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Saturday that they have expelled one of their fighters and referred him to a military court after he filmed himself next to the bodies of individuals killed during recent clashes.
In a statement, the SDF said: “Our leadership is closely following what has recently circulated regarding a fighter who filmed himself alongside armed individuals killed while repelling the attack on Kharous village, south of Kobani.”
It added: “The fighter was immediately excluded from the ranks of the forces and referred to the military court to take the necessary legal measures.”
The SDF stressed that “this behavior is individual and unacceptable, and does not reflect the principles of our forces, which are known for respecting humanitarian standards and ethical conduct, including respect for the sanctity of the dead.”
