SDF reports attacks by Damascus-affiliated factions in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday that their military positions in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, were targeted by armed factions affiliated with the Ministry of Defense of the Syrian transitional government.

In a statement published on its official website, the SDF said that gunmen linked to Damascus government factions attacked SDF positions in the town of Abu Hamam, east of Deir ez-Zor, from the opposite bank of the Euphrates River, using machine guns.

The statement confirmed that the attacks did not result in any casualties among SDF forces.

The SDF added that its forces immediately responded to the sources of fire and took all necessary measures to secure their positions and protect the area.
