Syrian Authorities seize 1 million captagon pills in Daraa
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Anti-Narcotics Department in Daraa announced on Monday the seizure of nearly one million Captagon pills hidden inside soft drink containers.
According to Syrian state-run al-Ikhbariya TV, the operation took place while the shipment was being prepared for smuggling to Saudi Arabia through the Nassib border crossing with Jordan.
The report added that the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Aleppo, in cooperation with the Internal Security Directorate, also dismantled a drug distribution network.
The Ministry of Interior stated through its official platforms that the operation in Aleppo led to the arrest of suspects and the confiscation of approximately 100,000 pills prepared for distribution in neighborhoods across the city.
Syrian authorities have announced several similar drug seizures in recent months, amid regional concerns over the growing Captagon trade through southern Syria.
