Ilham Ahmad reaffirms commitment to dialogue ahead of Paris meeting
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Ilham Ahmad, Head of the Foreign Relations Department in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), expressed on Friday the AANES’ readiness to continue discussions at the upcoming Paris meeting.
In a post on her account on X in Arabic, Ahmed stated: “We are ready to resume talks at the upcoming Paris meeting, reaffirming that dialogue and consensus are the only path to building a prosperous future for all Syrians.”
She reiterated the AANES’ firm commitment to a unified Syria and the integrity of its territory, rejecting “all projects aimed at division, in every forum and circumstance.”
Ilham Ahmad also stressed adherence to the March 10 agreement between SDF Commander in Chief, General Mazloum Abdi, and Syrian Transitional President Ahmad al-Sharaa and, noting: “Based on this, we are engaged in constructive discussions to implement the provisions of the agreement, ensuring genuine integration on the basis of partnership within the framework of the Syrian state — the shared homeland for all.”
The statements came as the “Unity of Communities” convened on Friday in the city of Hasakah, northeastern Syria, drawing broad participation both in person and through recorded messages from across the country.
