Israeli airstrike hits military site in coastal Syria for 3rd time in month
LATAKIA, Syria (North Press) – An Israeli airstrike targeted on Wednesday night the Brigade 107 base located in the village of Zama in the Jableh countryside of Syria’s Latakia Governorate.
According to a local correspondent, a loud explosion was heard across the city of Jableh on the Syrian coast, followed by a bright flash caused by the aerial strike.
The Israeli strike ignited fires at the site, sending plumes of smoke into the air. Civil defense teams quickly arrived at the scene to contain the blaze. No casualties or material damages have been reported so far.
This marks the third Israeli strike on the same location in the past three weeks.
Local sources and social media activists previously claimed that the Brigade 107 site—commonly referred to as “Zama”—was being prepared to serve as a Turkish military base on the Syrian coast.
As of the time of reporting, there has been no official statement from the Syrian Ministry of Defense or other government authorities regarding the incident.
