Syrian Defense Ministry seizes narcotics shipment near Jordan’s border
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that it had seized a shipment of narcotics near the Syrian-Jordanian border, which was being prepared for smuggling into Jordan.
In a statement published on its official Telegram channel, the Ministry said that a patrol from Division 70 intercepted the shipment near the border. The confiscated narcotics included 28 kilograms of hashish.
The Ministry noted that the case, along with the seized materials, has been referred to the Internal Security Department in the region for further investigation.
This incident follows a similar development last month, on June 20, when the Jordanian Armed Forces reported foiling an attempt to smuggle narcotics into Jordan via a drone originating from Syrian territory.
