2 SDF fighters injured in separate attacks in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Two members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were injured on Wednesday in two separate attacks carried out by unidentified gunmen in the Deir ez-Zor countryside, eastern Syria.
According to a military source close to the SDF in Deir ez-Zor, two armed assailants on a motorcycle opened fire on an SDF gathering near a military outpost in the town of al-Hissan, in the western countryside.
The attack left one SDF fighter wounded, while the attackers fled the scene in an unknown direction.
In a second incident, two unidentified gunmen—also riding a motorcycle—used automatic weapons to target an SDF checkpoint in the town of Abu al-Nitel.
The assault triggered a brief exchange of fire between the attackers and SDF forces, resulting in the injury of another SDF member.
The incidents are part of a pattern of escalating hit-and-run attacks in the region, where SDF units continue to face security threats from remnants of insurgent groups and unidentified armed actors.
