Blasts rock Syria’s Latakia amid reports of Israeli strike on base
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Loud explosions were heard at dawn on Saturday in the Latakia countryside in western Syria, amid reports of an Israeli airstrike targeting a military installation belonging to the Syrian Ministry of Defense.
The blasts reportedly struck “Brigade 107,” located in the rural outskirts of the city of Jableh.
According to local sources and social media activists, Brigade 107—also known as “Zama”—was being prepared to serve as a Turkish military base on the Syrian coast. They claimed that a Turkish delegation had visited the site several days earlier.
So far, the Syrian Ministry of Defense and other official bodies have not issued any statement regarding the explosions.
