Turkey expands diplomatic presence in Damascus with new appointments

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Ankara announced on Sunday that its religious and trade advisors have officially begun their duties at the Turkish Embassy in Damascus.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, the Turkish Embassy confirmed the appointment of Hüseyin Demirhan as the embassy’s Religious Affairs Counselor.

It also appointed Caner Bozat as the Commercial Counselor at the Turkish diplomatic mission in Damascus, according to the statement.

Following the fall of the previous regime, Turkey reopened its embassy in the Syrian capital last week, marking the end of a 14-year closure.
