SDF announces killing, injuring 5 Turkish soldiers in Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Thursday that they killed a Turkish soldier and injured four others after targeting their positions in the Qaraqozaq area of Kobani countryside, northern Syria.
According to an official statement from the SDF, Turkish warplanes launched multiple airstrikes on Wednesday, hitting villages in the south of Kobani city, causing material damage.
Simultaneously, intense artillery and missile bombardments targeted the villages of Malha, Ghesq, Dikan, Bir Hasu, Jadda, Tabi Sifi, al-Sun’a, Tineh, and the Qaraqozaq Bridge in the same area.
In response to the Turkish attacks, the SDF claimed to have targeted Turkish military positions and affiliated factions in Tel Qaraqozaq, confirming the killing of one Turkish soldier and the injury of four others.
In the western countryside of Kobani, the Turkish airstrikes hit a civilian farmland, causing significant damage to it, according to the SDF statement.
The SDF reported that it successfully downed a Turkish-backed faction’s suicide drone southeast of Manbij.
