HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – 155 Iraqi families departed on Sunday from Hawl Camp in northeastern Syria as part of ongoing coordination between the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and the Iraqi government.
Shukri al-Haji, head of the exit office at Hawl Camp, told North Press that 155 Iraqi families, a total of 569 individuals, were part of this latest departure.
“The process of repatriating the remaining Iraqi refugees is ongoing in coordination with the Iraqi government,” he added.
The families will be relocated to al-Jadaa Camp in Mosul, a facility designated by the Iraqi government to receive returnees from the Hawl Camp.
According to camp AANES’ statistics, approximately 15,000 Iraqi refugees remain in the camp.
A source from the camp’s administration told North Press that two repatriation convoys are expected to be organized each month.
This marks the 21st batch to leave the Hawl Camp since repatriation efforts began, and the third such transfer in 2025.
