SDF honors 4 Syriac fighters killed in Turkish shelling in Syria’s Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Syriac Military Council of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) held a memorial service on Thursday to honor four fighters who lost their lives in a Turkish shelling on the countryside Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
In a ceremony attended by residents of Hasakah, the fighters’ family members, and representatives from Syrian political and military institutions, the council laid the fallen fighters to rest at the Martyrs of the Assyrian Syrians memorial site in Hasakah.
The fighters died in a Turkish shelling on the village of al-Aliyah near the town of Tel Tamr in northwestern Hasakah.
Areas in northeastern Syria, including regions such as Kobani, Ain Issa, and Tel Tamr, have experienced intensified Turkish drone strikes since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
