Artillery strike targets Iranian militia base in eastern Syria
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – An artillery strike of unidentified origin hit on Wednesday a military base in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, killing one member of an Iranian-backed militia and injuring three others.
According to a source within Syrian government forces, two artillery shells struck after midnight, targeting a position of the Afghan Fatemiyoun Brigade, an Iranian-affiliated militia operating in al-Salihiyah Hill in the town of al-Jalaa, east of Deir ez-Zor.
