Israel targets military posts in southern Syria

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli warplanes targeted on Tuesday several military sites belonging to Syrian government forces in southern Syria.

A military source told North Press that the Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on military positions of the government forces in Daraa and Suwayda governorates in southern Syria, notably hitting the T-4 military airport with two strikes.

The source added that the airstrikes targeted an air defense battalion on the road connecting the city of Izraa and the village of al-Qnayyah in the northern countryside of Daraa, as well as the agricultural airport near the village of Namer in the northeastern countryside of Daraa.

He noted that the targeting operations also affected an air defense battalion of the government forces stationed on a hill known as Tel Kharouf in the western countryside of Suwayda during an attempt by the ground defenses present there to intercept the Israeli missiles.
