Border crossing requires Syrian passports for expatriates visiting Syria
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The Bab al-Hawa border crossing in Idlib in northwestern Syria announced on Monday that expatriates outside Turkey who wish to visit Syria through the crossing must have a valid passport issued by the Syrian government.
According to a statement by the administration of the border crossing on its official website, this requirement applies even if the visitor holds residency or citizenship from another foreign country.
The statement emphasized that the Syrian passport must be valid for at least two months when applying to enter Syria.
The crossing stated that this measure is necessary for allowing visitors to enter Syria and then exit through Turkey.
The statement added that this decision does not include Syrians staying in Turkey.
