Asayish apprehend ISIS member in Syria’s Hasakah
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) said on Sunday that they had apprehended a suspected member of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Hasakah Governorate in Northeast Syria.
On Saturday, the Anti-Terrorism Units (HAT) of the Asayish carried out a targeted operation in al-Janba, a village situated just south of the town of Hawl, in Hasakah’s eastern countryside.
According to an official Asayish statement, the operation led to the arrest of an ISIS operative involved in smuggling both members and leaders of the extremist group out of the Hawl Camp, with the intent to move them into territories currently under Turkish control in northern Syria.
