Asayish free Yazidi woman, 2 children from Hawl Camp
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Wednesday freeing a Yazidi woman and two child girls from Hawl Camp in Northeast Syria.
In a statement, the Asayish said they obtained information about the existence of a Yazidi woman in the fourth sector of the Hawl Camp.
On June 3, the Asayish forces raided the sector and managed to free the woman with her daughter and another child girl, the Asayish added.
The woman named Aziza Khaled Ali, and the other girl was Khunav Nayef Khudr who was 10 years old.
The Asayish pointed out that when militants of the Islamic State (ISIS) kidnapped Khunav with her mother, she was less than one year old, and that ISIS separated her from her mother.
They were kidnapped when ISIS attacked Sinjar (Shengal) in northern Iraq in August 2014. At the time, ISIS kidnapped about 5,000 Yazidi women.
The Asayish concluded that the woman and the two children will be handed over to their families.
