Turkish border guards injure 3 Syrians in Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish border guards shot on Sunday three Syrian civilians in Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria, while attempting to cross into Turkey, and arrested 25 others, including women.
A local source told North Press that the Turkish border guards shot three Syrians while attempting to cross into Turkey from the village of Azmarin, west of Idlib, that resulted in their injury.
The source added that the border guards also arrested 25 other civilians, including women, and took them to a Turkish military post near Azmarin to be transferred to a detention center.
Syrians attempting to cross the Syrian-Turkish border are continuously beaten, tortured and shot to death by the Turkish border guards.
They resort to dangerous smuggling routes to reunite with their families, to get job opportunities, or to cross to Europe aiming at seeking asylum to meet their needs, especially in poor living and economic conditions.
