AANES urges Intl organizations to monitor NE Syria municipal elections
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The High Electoral Commission of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) urged on Tuesday international organizations to participate in monitoring the municipal elections in Northeast Syria.
The Commission called on both governmental and non-governmental international organizations to monitor the upcoming municipal elections in Northeast Syria scheduled for June 11.
In the statement, the Commission stressed its call aims to ensure the success, integrity, transparency, and independence of the electoral process.
The monitoring process is aimed at observing the entire electoral process, from the opening of polling centers to their readiness. It also involves closely monitoring the vote counting process and ensuring its accuracy.
Last week, the Commission announced accepting requests from local and international election observers and political party agents to monitor the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of ensuring a free and democratic election process.
The High Electoral Commission was founded in February and consists of 20 members.
