Syrian government condemns fresh Israeli airstrike
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned on Friday the recent Israeli airstrike that targeted the southern governorate of Daraa.
In statement published by the state-run news agency of SANA, the ministry said the airstrike “confirms Israel’s arrogance and its fascist policies that targeted the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.”
“Syria condemns in the strongest terms this Israeli aggression along with the attacks that preceded it on Syrian territory,” it added.
Early on Friday, a local source told North Press that Israeli warplanes targeted a military radar of the Syrian government forces and the agricultural airport in the south of the city of Izraa, east of Daraa in southern Syria.
The source said the two sites were used by militias affiliated with Iran as a headquarters.
The ministry demanded the international community to condemn the airstrike and “take all deterrent measures to stop the crimes and massacres committed by this occupation entity, and hold it [Israel] accountable.”
