Woman, 2 children of ISIS families disappear from Hawl Camp in NE Syria

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – A woman and her two children of the families of the Islamic State (ISIS) militants disappeared ten days ago in Hawl Camp in the countryside of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.

Jihan Hannan, an official at the Hawl Camp, told North Press that a woman along with her two children of ISIS families disappeared after they went to a joint medical point of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Syrian Red Crescent on March 17 for treatment.

Hannan pointed out that the woman is of an Egyptian nationality, according to recorded data.

She added that investigations are still ongoing by the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) in the camp, adding they have no information whether the woman escaped outside the camp or remained inside.

On March 26, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) managed to thwart an escape attempt by two ISIS militants of the so-called Cubs of the Caliphate from the camp.
