AANES condemns recent Turkish strike in Syria’s Qamishli

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) condemned on Monday the Turkish strike on a building for wounded fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the fight against the Islamic State (ISIS) in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria.

In a statement, the AANES called on the international community to designate Turkey as a state sponsor of terrorism.

On Sunday, a Turkish drone bombed the building for wounded SDF fighters, causing casualties.

The center, which is an association that cares for SDF fighters wounded in the fight against ISIS in northeast Syria, was opened in 2020 in Qamishli. It also provides rehabilitation and training programs for the fighters.

“The Turkish targeting is a supportive message for ISIS and a proof that Turkey supports ISIS and its cells,” according to the statement.
