Iraqi government condemns killing of 3 U.S. soldiers in Jordan
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Iraqi government condemned on Monday the killing of three U.S. soldiers in an attack on U.S. base in Jordan.
Iraqi government spokesperson Basem al-Awadi said that his country is ready to draw lines to end repercussions and prevent the conflict from extending more.
On Sunday, three U.S. soldiers were killed and about 35 others were injured in a drone attack on a U.S. base in northeastern Jordan. Although Iran denied the attack, the so-called Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of Iranian-backed militias, claimed its responsibility for the attack.
These repercussions threaten regional and international peace and security and undermines counterterrorism and anti-drug efforts, according to the spokesperson.
Commander in Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazloum Abdi also condemned the attack, saying, “We condemn the attack that targeted an American base in Jordan.”
Abdi offered condolences to the “families of the American soldiers who lost their lives.”
