7 power plants go out of service due to Turkish attacks in NE Syria
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Seven power stations in north Syria have gone out of service due to the Turkish bombardment that took place in the recent 24 hours.
The Turkish airstrikes targeted the city of Kobani twice, causing a power outage in the city and its countryside which includes 400 villages.
Over the past two days, Turkey has been launching drone strikes on areas adjacent to the border in northern and northeastern Syria, targeting infrastructure facilities, and properties of residents. These attacks have resulted in civilian and military casualties.
The Turkish warplanes also hit the power station in the town of Ain Issa in Raqqa Governorate, north Syria. As a result, the town and 150 villages suffered from a power outage.
In the city of Qamishli and its countryside in northeast Syria, more than 60 percent of the population was deprived of electricity due to the Turkish attacks on power stations.
Population in the city of Amuda and 90 villages there, and the town of Tirbe Spiyeh (al-Qahtaniya) and 190 villages there, northeast Syria, suffer from power outages due to the Turkish attacks.
Hours before, the Turkish attacks targeted the town of Derbasiyah, north of Hasakah, resulting in a power outage.
Additionally, a Turkish airstrike targeted late on Sunday the Sweidiya gas plant in the countryside of Derik.
