Armenian Social Council organizes celebration in Syria’s Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Armenian Social Council arranged a cultural and art celebration on Saturday at the Sardam Hall in the city of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
The celebration featured Armenian artistic performances with participation from theatrical musical groups, representing various communities and religions in the city and its countryside.
The Armenian Social Council was established in the city of Hasakah, on April 24, 2020, to address Armenians’ affairs.
Imad Tetrian, an official in the Armenian Social Council, told North Press that they arranged this event to let the whole world know about the genocide committed against their people between 1915 and 1916 by the Ottoman Empire, and so that future generations do not forget what Turkey did to them.
Tetrain added that the event “included multiple artistic performances in different languages and by different religions. This message aims to demonstrate to the Turkish occupation that despite their bombardment and shelling of the region last night, the people remain steadfast on their land.”
The celebration also included a short film titled “Pray for Us” to commemorate the genocide.
