Armed clashes in Syria’s Daraa result in casualties
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Several individuals were killed and wounded on Monday in armed clashes in the village of al-Yadudah in the north of Daraa, southern Syria.
A local source told North Press that the clashes erupted after the Central Committee and the Eighth Brigade, groups affiliated with the Syrian government forces, raided posts of a local armed group.
The source added that the raid targeted the house of Muhammad Jad Allah al-Zu’bi, a leader of a local armed group accused of carrying out assassinations against members of the Central Committee.
Ahmad and Ismail Jad Allah al-Zu’bi were killed, both members of the group led by their brother Muhammad Jad Allah al-Zu’bi, according to the source.
On the other hand, Ibrahim al-Masri and another person, members of the Eighth Brigade, a group affiliated with the Military Intelligence Branch of the government forces, were killed during the clashes.
The reason for the clashes is attributed to an accusation that al-Zu’bi’s group killed Radi Mustafa al-Hashish, a member of the Committee on Dec. 18, 2023.
