SDF arrests spies working for Turkish intelligence in Syria’s Manbij

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested a four-member spy network operating for Turkish intelligence in the city of Manbij, northern Syria.

The SDF stated in a press release that they arrested a spy network consisting of four individuals working for Turkish intelligence, involved in targeting a female member of the Military Council of People’s Protection Units (YPG) and her companions in Manbij on Sept. 15, 2022.

After a series of investigations and following information and evidence, the SDF was able to obtain information about the network’s involvement, according to the press release.

“They were subsequently pursued, apprehended, and interrogated, where they confessed to their organized involvement in the operation based on instructions from Turkish intelligence,” the SDF said.

The SDF’s Media Center indicated that it will publish visual confessions of the spy network regarding the operation at a later time.
