Turkish Border guards kill Syrian in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – A young man drowned on Sunday in the Orontes River in northwestern Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria, after being thrown by the Turkish border guards during an attempt to cross the Turkish-Syrian border.
A local source said that Rami al-Kahil, 36, drowned in the Orontes River near the border village of Azmarin, in western Idlib.
Turkish border guards arrested al-Kahil and 25 others who were attempting to illegally cross the Turkish-Syrian border, the source added.
The source reported that this is the second occurrence of its kind within the past 24 hours. On Saturday, a similar incident occurred near the village of al-Tlul in northwestern Idlib.
