HTS arrests 7 civilians in IDP camp in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Two people were injured, including a child, and seven others were arrested on Sunday during a raid by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) on al-Bardeghli IDP camp in northern Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria.
An official source in the HTS stated that the HTS-linked General Security Service (GSS) raided the eastern part of the camp and fired at two motorcycles as individuals tried to flee, injuring a 19-year-old young man and a 6-year-old child named Yassin al-Ashqar, who hails from the town of Dana, northern Idlib.
The source added that they targeted members affiliated with the defected HTS leader Abu Ahmad Zakour on charges of undermining public security and inciting against HTS top leader Abu Muhammad al-Julani in Idlib.
The source further stated that raid led to the arrest of four wanted individuals. The source emphasized that all entrances to the camp were closed, and no one was allowed to enter or leave.
