Assad’s relatives impose royalties on traders in Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Relatives of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad manage three offices recently opened in Aleppo under the name “remittances and money exchanging” to impose royalties of millions of Syrian pounds on traders who still live in the city.
An informed source in a security branch affiliated with the government forces told North Press on Sunday that sons of Harun al-Assad manage these three offices that receive direct support from Maher al-Assad, brother of Syrian President.
The first office is named “al-Temsah”, behind the Military Security Branch of the government forces, the second is named “Hassan”, in al-Jdayde neighborhood, and the third is located in al-Furqan neighborhood.
The three offices conduct patrols in the city of Aleppo, forcing traders and professionals to pay sums of money, reaching millions of Syrian pounds, according to the source.
The source said that the traders in Aleppo are victims of the jockeying over power and money between House of al-Assad, mainly Maher al-Assad, and First Lady Asmaa al-Assad who runs security branches, including al-Khatib office in Aleppo.
