NGO employee killed in drone strike in Syria’s Qamishli
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – An employee of a non-governmental organization was killed on Friday morning as a result of a drone strike, suspected to be Turkish, in Northeast Syria.
Jwan Suleiman Muhammad, 34, who was an employee of ACTED organization, succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning, his parents said.
On Thursday evening, a drone hit a car in Amuda, a town in the western countryside of the city of Qamishli in northeast Syria, injuring Munir Abdulfares, Ronak Muhammad, and Jwan Suleiman Muhammad who succumbed to his injuries.
Muhammad was working on providing social support for the IDPs in the camp of Sere Kaniye in the countryside of Hasakah that houses the displaced people of the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) after it was occupied by Turkey following the so-called Peace Spring military operation in 2019.

Muhammad’s sister and her husband were also injured in the drone strike, but their health is stable, according to Muhammad’s parents.
The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced on Thursday that two people were killed and five others were injured in Turkish drone strikes on a facility in the town of Rmelan, some 70 km to the east of Qamishli, and two cars in the countryside of Qamishli.
