AANES organizes 1st festival of Women’s Art, Literature in Tabqa
TABQA, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the Culture and Art Committee, affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East of Syria (AANES), in the city of Tabqa, northern Syria, organized the first edition of the Women’s Art and Literature Festival under the theme ‘A Free Woman is the Spirit of Life.’
Recently, the Culture and Art Committee in Tabqa has organized a number of cultural events, the most recent of which was an exhibition of paintings and other artworks during the past week.
The festival commenced with the inauguration of a traditional tent that showcased various artifacts reflecting the cultural heritage of the region. In addition, the event included an art exhibition featuring a collection of paintings.
Nour al-Huda Qattan, the co-chair of the Culture and Art Committee, stated that the exhibition included paintings by female artists from the Cultural Center in Tabqa.
She added to North Press that the goal of the festival is to support women and promote their achievements.
The festival also featured captivating musical performances showcasing Arab and Kurdish folklore, along with a poetry reading session.
