Israeli airstrike puts Aleppo airport out of service again
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – An Israeli shelling put, on Wednesday, Aleppo International Airport out of service again, after hours it returned to work following another airstrike a few days ago.
Media outlets close to the Syrian government said, “Aleppo International Airport returned to service and that the airport received a flight coming from Sharjah today in the morning.”
The airport was out of service after the “Israeli aggression targeted the airport runway with a missile,” the sources added.
On Oct. 12, Israel launched airstrikes on Damascus and Aleppo international airports, knocking them out of service.
Later on Oct. 22, Israeli airstrikes hit both Damascus and Aleppo international airports for the second time after they resumed operations, causing material damage to the runways at both airports and putting them out of service.
Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated early on the same day targeting military infrastructure of the government forces in Daraa Governorate, southern Syria.
Israel frequently targets suspected positions of Iranian-backed militias in Syria in what appears to be an effort to curb their movement amid fears the Israel-Hamas conflict would escalate into a wider regional turmoil.
