ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – A security source in Aleppo reported to North Press on Thursday that the Syrian authorities suspended employees on corruption probes that included directors of Takamol fuel company, and Syrian Trading.
The source informed that the investigations revealed a well-established looting network works on transferring the allocated amount of fuel to the black market and some individuals.
Talal Hamood, the directorate of Syrian Trading, referred to investigation after founding him guilty in abusing his power to steal billions of Syrian pounds of public money. He is now with 27 embroiled employees undergo the investigation. A man named Nadeem Abu Hasan was appointed as an alternative, according to the sources.
The source further disclosed that the security authorities have taken action by shutting down a facility owned by the investor Abu Ali in the al-Jamaliyah neighborhood of Aleppo city. Abu Ali is currently under investigation for engaging in the illicit trade of subsidized materials and embezzling sums amounting to millions of Syrian pounds.
The Ministry of Oil dismissed the director of the state-owned Syrian Petroleum Company, Abdullah al-Nadman, at the beginning of August, after the arrest of the director of Takamol Company in Aleppo, along with seven employees of the company.
The ministry appointed the engineer Rashad Salem to run Takamol. The decision was made after the former director was found guilty of embezzlement and corruption relating to fuel management spanning a period of over two years.
