Two government soldiers killed northern Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen shot and killed two soldiers of Syrian government forces on Thursday in northern Daraa, southern Syria.

A local source told North Press that two government soldiers were killed by unknown attackers in Keita village in northern Daraa.

The source said that the two were serving in the government’s Political Security branch and that they were stationed at a checkpoint in Kafr Shams in northern Daraa.

They were taken to a hospital in Damascus where they succumbed to their wounds, the source added.

“The Syrian government forces have sent a brigadier with 20 troops to the scene. They interrogated a number of the shop owners near the site to find the perpetrators,” the source noted.

Since the government forces entered Daraa Governorate in July 2018, it has been witnessing a state of security chaos with assassinations, abductions, robberies taking place on a daily basis.
